Andy
From Blogger Beware Annotated
Jump to navigationJump to searchAndy is one of the protagonists of the four Monster Blood novels. This would be unremarkable except for the fact that Troy adores her personality. This is mostly because he detests her friend/almost-romantic partner Evan Ross, who he says is a whiny loser who never does anything right; Andy rips on him a lot, which obviously catches Troy's eye. Naturally, she gets brought up in other entries after he finished the Monster Blood quadrilogy.
Mentions[edit | edit source]
- Monster Blood: Andy is introduced. She is described by Troy as "snarky", and she uses the phrase "stupid" often. Troy concludes that she is the best character in the series.
- Monster Blood II: Troy is excited that Andy returns in this book. He reaffirms that she is "the best character ever."
- Monster Blood III: Because this review is written in a multiple-choice style, Troy mentions Andy less than in his previous review. However, he does hint that he wants "Evan to die in a fire, making Andy the lead character."
- Monster Blood IV: According to this review, Troy believes that "Andy stopped being a worthwhile character after the second book and that her role in this book is basically to wear neon colors and act like every other female character before her is the biggest indictment against Stine and this series I can muster."
- The Curse of Camp Cold Lake: Troy compares the protagonist of this book to Evan Ross, but he says that there is "no male Andy figure in the book to counterbalance the wussery."
- R-E-T-R-O-S-P-E-C-T, find out what it means to me: In this retrospective, Troy entitled one section "Ten Best Goosebumps Characters"; the section only contains one line: "01 Andy from Monster Blood".
- Brain Juice: In the conclusion, Troy says "Based on the number of times some variation of the word "stupid" was used in Brain Juice, the target audience must have been Andy from Monster Blood." This comment is in reference to Andy's repeated use of the word "stupid" in her first appearance.
- The Werewolf in the Living Room: This review is written in a multiple-choice style. Troy briefly compares Ahslee's fashion sense to Andy's, as they both wear bright clothing.
- Be Afraid - Be Very Afraid!: From the perspective of the character Ross, Troy writes:
"Why couldn't you have put me in one of the Monster Bloods so I could hang out with Andy[?]"
