Zak said... In case anyone's wondering, the thing I was talking about[Note 1] is that it's the only Goosebumps set in the real world. As in, nothing supernatural happens.[Note 2] SEPTEMBER 16, 2008 11:19 PM |

Anonymous said... Wait, what supernatural happenings are in Shocker on Shock Street or Fright Camp? Robots and unrealistic experiments could happen. SEPTEMBER 17, 2008 1:48 AM |

Anonymous said... Whenever I get a package of plain M&Ms,[1] I make it my duty to continue the strength and robustness of the candy as a species. To this end, I hold M&M duels. Taking two candies between my thumb and forefinger, I apply pressure, squeezing them together until one of them cracks and splinters. That is the "loser," and I eat the inferior one immediately. The winner gets to go another round. I have found that, in general, the brown and red M&Ms are tougher, and the newer blue ones are genetically inferior. I have hypothesized that the blue M&Ms as a race cannot survive long in the intense theatre of competition that is the modern candy and snack-food world. SEPTEMBER 17, 2008 8:28 PM |

Notes[edit | edit source]
- ↑ It was brought up in the previous comment section.
- ↑ Under a broad definition, there are plenty of Goosebumps books without supernatural elements. For example, books like Stay Out of the Basement or Attack of the Jack-O'-Lanterns feature monsters that aren't technically supernatural.
...For the sake of argument, let's say that — in order for a book to be considered as "set in the real world" — it must not include supernatural elements, creatures unknown to modern science, or scientific processes that are currently impossible. A Shocker on Shock Street, Fright Camp, Are You Terrified Yet?, and Scream School are the only books Troy reviewed to meet this criteria. (Although, you could argue that Shocker is disqualified due to its sentient robots.)
