Despite lofty ambitions, Troy's energy to review the HorrorLand series seems to have stopped almost as soon as it started.

History[edit | edit source]

Troy's commitment to completing Goosebumps HorrorLand went back and forth. The sidebar included the HorrorLand series in early 2010, but Troy wound up removing it by late 2010, reintroducing it by 2011, and then removing it again by 2012. On October 3, 2013, Troy was asked directly if he intended on completing HorrorLand, and he replied with this comment:

I'm no longer saying yes or no to the Horrorland books. Let me actually get through my existing obligations to Blogger Beware as outlined in the sidebar and then decide if it ends or keeps going from there

On February 14, 2013 (about 8 months after his most recent review), Troy Steele announced the following in the comments of his Revenge of the Living Dummy review:

The blog is in indefinite hiatus, but hey, Futurama came back. Arrested Development came back. Family Guy came back. Whitney hasn't been canceled yet and when it is it won't be back so maybe that wasn't as good an example as the others geez why did I even type it out

On July 7, 2013, Troy commented in regards to Creep from the Deep:

It's just boring. I've had the first couple jokes written for over a year, haven't made it further yet. Someday I'll be moved forward

That would mean Troy began working on a Creep from the Deep entry only a short time after reviewing Revenge of the Living Dummy. However, 11 years after the last review, it's clear that Troy doesn't intend on finishing the series, especially since Blogger Beware quietly went offline in early 2022.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Whitney ended slightly more than a month after Troy's comment was made and was (you guessed it) never brought back.
